Meet the Team
Our staff has over 20+ years of experience, all in pediatrics! We would love to partner with your family to find the most meaningful ways to maximize life experiences. Here is a bit about each of our team members!

Owner, Occupational Therapist
Sonja Mangrum, MOT, OTR/L
Sonja has over 20 years of OT experience, and is the owner of Oklahoma Therapy Consultants, where she has combined her passion for supporting families with her lifelong dream of running a family-focused clinic.

She earned her undergraduate degree from Oklahoma Baptist University and her Master’s in Occupational Therapy from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center.

Her specialties include ADHD, autism, and helping families navigate the unique challenges of raising children with diverse needs. Inspired by a junior high teacher who encouraged her curiosity about disabilities, Sonja has dedicated her career to helping children and families discover their strengths.
Her proudest achievement is creating a clinic where therapists are encouraged to use their own styles and passions to serve families well.
Outside of work, Sonja enjoys crafting, reading, making sourdough bread, learning about "from scratch cooking", and spending time with her family.
A fun fact: she was a single mom for five years, an experience that deepened her empathy and understanding as a therapist.

Motto: “You never know the paths people have walked, and the way those experiences have shaped their realities.”

Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant
April Boyd, COTA/L

She loves working with children, building their confidence, and collaborating with a team that values flexibility and fun.

In her free time, April enjoys reading, tennis, and time with her family and pup.
Fun fact: she once competed in trampoline!

Motto: “Progress, not perfection.”

Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant
Pam Dowdy, COTA/L
Pam graduated from Brown Mackie College in 2015 with an Associates in Occupational Therapy. She has a Bachelors in Healthcare Administration. She is also CPR, CPI, and sensory certified and specializes in sensory integration therapy.

Pam has 3 children with special needs. As she began their journey through therapy, she was inspired by all of the ways occupational therapy helped her children grow to enjoy life and become more independent. This is what led her to become one herself. She enjoys working with the knowledgeable and fun staff at OTC.

"We are cheerleaders for the clients we serve and collaborate with each other to be the best for them. In my time as an occupational therapist, one of my favorite things to hear is a parent coming to the office excited because their child can now do a task they were unable to do before therapy."

When she isn't at work, she enjoys gardening, music, and spending time at the lake with her family. She has also been fostering and training dogs for over 20 years.
She says if she had a superpower, it would be "to not have to deal with health insurance."

Pam's motto:
"Happiness is a choice, not a result. Nothing will make you happy until you choose to be happy. No one will make you happy unless you decide to be happy. Your happiness will not come to you. It can only come from you."

Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant
Haley Esau, COTA/L
Hayley graduated with an associates degree in applied science, OTA certification from Brown Mackie College, and has been working as a COTA since 2022. She has Handwriting Without Tears training, and is CPR certified.
She worked as a paraprofessional in special education, and enjoyed watching the COTA's work with the students. When she saw their progress. she knew she wanted to do the same. Sonja was her instructor at Brown Mackie College, "I learned so much from her and continue to do so. I enjoy my coworkers. The students are the best! Watching students achieve a goal and seeing how proud they are of themselves makes me proud of our mission!"
In her spare time, she loves spending time with her family and friends, along with shopping and going to the movies.
If she had a super power, she would want to be a tech-savvy wizard.
Hayley's motto:
'Bloom where you are planted.'

Handwriting & Tutoring
Cindy Riedl
Mrs. Riedl has been teaching for 15 years and has a BS from UCO in elementary education with endorsements in ELA and Social Studies. She specializes in ELA, fifth grade Social Studies, and essay writing.
She is inspired by the fulfillment of a lifelong dream to make a positive difference in the lives of children. She always looks forward to the opportunity to connect with students in families by offering support in areas of need.
She believes the key moments are those in which a connection forms with a hard-to-reach child or being chosen as a child's "safe person."
Comments from kids like, 'Your teaching is different. You really help me understand.' and 'This used to be so hard. You made it easy.' are mini triumphs.
Contact from a former student saying he/she still uses techniques I taught make it all worth it! Contact from parents of former students, in which they say the time management skills and independence I taught their child, made all the difference in high school is deeply rewarding.
If she could have a superpower, it would be to unravel a child's mind to find out what makes them tick. In her spare time she enjoys gardening and playing the piano.

Mrs. Riedl's Motto: Sometimes we miss the silver lining because we're expecting gold.

Music Therapist
Alex Konemann LPMT, MT-BC
Alex has been working in music therapy since 2018. She earned her Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy from Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) and is a board-certified music therapist (MT-BC).

Her expertise includes Neurologic Music Therapy, adaptive music instruction, group therapy, and pediatric music therapy.
For Alex, music therapy was a dream career that perfectly combined her passion for helping people with her love of music.

One of her proudest moments was helping a client who struggled to produce sound on the trombone eventually perform an entire recital. Seeing his pride and progress was a powerful reminder of why she loves this field.
At OTC, Alex appreciates the freedom to try new ideas and the support she receives from her team—especially when her “silly music ideas” turn into meaningful breakthroughs.

Outside of therapy, Alex enjoys experimenting with TikTok recipes, spending time with her kids, and relaxing with TV.
A fun fact: she drinks a Dr Pepper almost every day.

Superpower Wish: To instantly know everyone’s favorite song just by looking at them—making instant connections through music.
Motto: “Always be kind.”

Billing Manager
Melissa Dowling-Hartwig
Melissa has been with OTC for about three years, bringing her background in Journalism and Mass Communication to the role of Billing Manager. She manages her work remotely, often juggling tasks at flexible hours to ensure everything runs smoothly for families and the clinic.

A passionate OU Sooners fan (football and softball) and new OKC Thunder fan, Melissa also enjoys reading and traveling.
Fun fact: she played in the Pride of Oklahoma Marching Band at the University of Oklahoma.

Motto: “This above all: To thine own self be true.” – Hamlet

Music Therapist
Jennifer Voss, LPMT, MME, MT-BC
Jennifer has been a music therapist for over 25 years. She earned her bachelor’s in Music Therapy from West Texas A&M University and her master’s in Music Education with an emphasis in Music Therapy from the University of Kansas. She has additional training in Neurologic Music Therapy (NMT) and extensive experience with early childhood development.

Drawn to the science of how music affects people, Jennifer finds fulfillment in combining music, science, and service. She thrives on making music accessible, engaging, and transformative—especially when children connect to music in ways they never had before.

One of her favorite success stories is of a student who passively refused to participate in music therapy but eventually initiated connection through touch, sound, and vocalizations—showing incredible growth.

Outside of work, Jennifer enjoys coloring, making handmade cards, and cheering for her sons on the baseball field.

Superpower Wish: Solving problems in a way that meets everyone’s needs.
